PCC joint venture targets voice authentication

Bloomfield software maker PCC Technology Group said it has formed a joint venture with a New York company to develop biometric authentication tools.

PCC and software maker Yobe Inc., working under the name Cenuity V-ID, aim to develop a product that blocks out background noise.

The joint venture is targeting a range of sectors that interact with customers over the phone, from government to utility companies.

PCC said Yobe's technology can identify acoustic resonances, tone, pitch and other biometrics.

The two hope to put out an initial version of their product by December.
