The law firm of Hassett & George PC announced that two new paralegals have joined its team: Michele Spooner, a residential real estate paralegal in the Simsbury office, and Melanie Jordan, a probate and estate planning paralegal in the Glastonbury office.

 

BVH names director of technical operations

Engineering firm BVH Integrated Services PC announced that Steven Haines has joined the organization as director of technical operations in Bloomfield. In this newly created position, Haines will take a leadership role in the firm’s information technology and related practice areas.

 

Fellows program inducts Hartford IP attorney

Intellectual property attorney Nancy Kennedy of Hartford law firm Alix, Yale & Ristas has been inducted as a 2017 fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation James W. Cooper Fellows Program, which was established to honor the leading members of the Connecticut legal profession to further understanding of the legal system in Connecticut. The program includes lawyers in private practice, judges, corporate counsel, business principals, and lawyers at legal services organizations.

 

Attorney named trustee for CT Laborers’ funds

Attorney and CPA Steven R. Jenkins has been appointed as a trustee to the Connecticut Laborers’ Pension, Health, and Annuity Funds. Jenkins is general counsel and compliance director for regional construction firm Manafort Brothers Inc., headquartered in Plainville.

CT Children’s promotes infectious disease specialist

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center recently announced that Dr. Nicholas Bennett was promoted to division head of infectious disease and immunology. Bennett joined Connecticut Children’s in Sept. 2011, developed and now directs the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) and most recently earned national attention for the hospital after diagnosing the first human case of tick-borne Powassan disease in Connecticut.

The Connection promotes executive to CEO
