Connecticut farmers will air their concerns Monday night in Middletown before a pair of state congressional leaders who sit on key U.S. House committees that oversee federal farm programs.
U.S. Representatives Rosa L. DeLauro, D-3rd District, and Joe Courtney, D-2nd District, will host an agricultural forum from 5 to 7 p.m. at Middlesex Community College, 100 Training Hill Road.
DeLauro sits on the House Agriculture Appropriations Committee; Courtney sits on the House Agriculture Committee.
Local farmers' needs are being heard now before the bulk of the farm bill's program authorizations and this year's appropriations expire on Sept. 30.
Connecticut Agriculture Commissioner Steve Revizcky also is scheduled to attend.
The forum is free and open to the public.
