The latest business news stories of the day — like those delivered on HartfordBusiness.com or weekly in print by the Hartford Business Journal — tell you a lot about Central Connecticut and the direction in which its business communities are going. But there's often another untold story, one that more fully develops and makes companies special. Often it's about people and the history behind the business.

The fourth edition of the Business Profiles tells the stories of 20 different companies all located in our region. As you read their stories, written in their own words, you will find that some businesses are expanding into new products and services. Other companies are growing geographically. And many companies have been serving businesses for many years. There are new and unique aspects about the companies that make the business community strong.
The photographs also tell part of the story. Whether it is a modern building, a team activity, a company event, or a customer experience, the photographs will give you a sense of the business. The photographs will allow you to see a different angle. Each photograph has been carefully chosen to reflect elements of the "business personality."
