Greater Hartford gasoline prices on Wednesday dropped more than 4 cents to 3.878 per gallon from a week ago, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
Gasoline prices dropped steadily since April when the average price per gallon of regular unleaded topped $4 per gallon for the second year in a row.
This week marks the first week since that drop began that prices went below $3.90 per gallon. Prices are down 4.3 cents from a week ago, 19.9 cents from a month ago, and 19.9 cents from a year ago.
The highest recorded gasoline price in Greater Hartford came on June 18, 2008 when the average price of regular unleaded hit $4.364 per gallon.
