NEEP honors CT companies' efficiency

The Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships will award three Connecticut organizations for their commitment to energy efficiency in their businesses.

Stratford helicopter manufacturer Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Manchester restaurant operator Walsh Enterprises, and Wesleyan University in Middletown will receive NEEP's Northeast Business Leader for Energy Efficiency award at the organization's summit on Thursday in Stamford.

The three winners were nominated by their area utilities for reducing their energy use those various efficiency measures such as lighting and HVAC improvements.

NEEP will honor a total of 13 organizations from around the region in its summit on Thursday. Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research in Cambridge, Mass. also won an award.
