Springfield grocer Big Y plans to open next spring its first Simsbury supermarket at 1313 Hopmeadow St., Patch.com reports.
The 53,000-square-foot store will be on the site of former Wagner Ford, in the town's north end.
The $12 million store will employ 125 full- and part-time workers, Patch.com reported.
In March, Simsbury lost Andy's Market after 33 years. Fitzgerald's Foods and Stop & Shop are the two remaining supermarkets in Simsbury.
Big Y operates 64 locations in Connecticut and Massachussetts, including nearby stores in Avon and West Hartford.
