Sturm, Ruger & Co. Inc. bought a minority stake in Pennsylvania crossbow maker Kodabow Inc., giving the Fairfield firearms maker a toehold in a fast-growing segment of the hunting-products market, authorities say.
Based in West Chester, Pa., Kodabow says Ruger's unspecified investment enables it to accelerate its business plans and expand its infrastructure.
Ruger CEO Michael O. Fifer said crossbows are rapidly becoming the weapon of choice for hunters, bridging the gap between traditional archery and firearms.
