East Hartford online learning and communication platform provider finalsite has gotten backing from an equity investor to expand marketing and distribution of its services to independent and public schools.
Spectrum Equity, with offices in Boston and Menlo Park, Calif., put an unspecified sum into finalsite (the firm's name is uncapitalized), officials said Thursday.
Finalsite founder and CEO Jon Moser also invested an unspecified sum into his company that delivers a software-as-services-based web platform. As part of the deal, Moser and two Spectrum principals joined finalsite's board, the company said.
Finalsite claims more than 1,000 schools and education organizations and as many as a million unique users daily worldwide using its online learning and communications interface.
The company, which has 57 workers, will remain in East Hartford, officials said.
