The Connecticut Convention Center in downtown Hartford boasts its fiscal 2012 traffic count hit a record 365,000 visitors.
Operators of the facility, which opened in June 2005, said attendance rose 9 percent from a year earlier and the visitors' impact translates to local restaurants and other attractions throughout the region.
Rental income also climbed by 27 percent in the latest fiscal year. Dollar sums weren't specified. Its fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30.
The Capital Region Development Authority and other officials who run the facility say its amenities have helped it pile repeat events atop a roster of new events staged at the site.
The convention center has events booked out as far as 2017, CRDA Executive Director James Abromaitis said in a statement.
Abromaitis insists the addition of Spotlight Theatre and other pending Front Street venues will enhance the convention center's appeal.
