Chase hires B of A's Clark to book CT loans

New York banking giant J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. hired veteran banker James Clark to shepherd its commercial-loan bookings in northern Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Clark, who spent 18 years as a middle-market loan officer at Bank of America, will be Chase's senior vice president based in Connecticut.

He is one of four newly hired bankers and marketing staff assigned to cater businesses with more than $20 million in annual sales, as well as nonprofits, municipalities and healthcare operators, in Connecticut, central and western Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Chase said Thursday.

Clark earned a bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Babson College.

The other three new hires are:

• Rick MacDonald, who has more than 15 years of banking experience, most recently at Bank of America. MacDonald began his career as a credit analyst with Fleet Bank in Boston and earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.

• Elizabeth Bollo Leatherbee has been with Chase for more than 11 years, most recently on the Corporate Client Banking team serving large businesses and corporations. She earned her bachelor's degree in economics from Georgetown University.

• Jerri DeFilippis will be the sales and marketing associate supporting the Boston team. She has been with Chase. Prior to joining Chase, DeFilippis worked for Fidelity Investments for 13 years. She earned a bachelor's degree from Rivier College in Nashua, N.H.
