Gregg C. Sayre, former associate general counsel for Stamford's Frontier Communications Corp. has taken a seat on the New York state agency that oversees telecommunications.
He was nominated to the New York State Public Service Commission. on June 19 by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and sworn in this week.
Sayre was in Frontier's legal department since 1987. Before that he was a regulatory attorney for The Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Companies (now part of Verizon Communications) and earlier, an attorney with the Law Bureau of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
A graduate of Iowa's Grinnell College, Sayre earned Harvard law degree. He received an M.S. in information technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
