Local Bike Teams Raise Funds To Support Battle Against MS

Pictured, from left, Simsbury native John Formica, and Glastonbury's Evan Flaschen and his son, Thomas, cut the ribbon at the start of the 100-mile Bike MS: Red Thread+Steelcase Ride recently in Windsor. Formica, a member of the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter board of trustees since 1989 and captain of team PricewaterhouseCoopers, has raised more than $27,000. Evan Flaschen is a partner with the law firm Bracewell & Giuliani and rides on team Maag Wheels. To date, Flaschen has raised more than $46,500. Funds raised through chapter events, such as Bike MS, ensure ongoing scientific research to find a cure for multiple sclerosis. Funds also provide for programs and services offered by the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter, to the more than 6,000 residents in the state living with multiple sclerosis.
