Aetna's Ohio Medicaid lawsuit dismissed

Hartford health giant Aetna Inc.'s legal challenge of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services decision to rescind its award of Medicaid contracts has been dismissed by a Franklin County judge, the Associated Press reports.

Aetna sued the state after the department took away its Medicaid contract amid a challenge from losing bidders. The company wanted the judge to stop the department from entering into final contracts while the lawsuit played out, AP reports.

But state health officials in the governor's Office of Health Transformation told AP that the judge dismissed the lawsuit, which was set to go to trial on Monday.
