UnitedHealthcare creates 169 jobs in Wis.

Minnesota health-benefits giant UnitedHealthcare, which has sizable Hartford operations, is expanding its Green Bay, Wis., payroll by 32 percent, adding 169 jobs at its customer-care operation there.

The new jobs include 135 customer care professionals who assist and educate individual consumers in plan selection and enrollment, among other functions.

Other positions include customer service representatives for members with Medicare benefits. The Green Bay customer services operation handled 3.2 million inquiries from members across the U.S. last year.

Wisconsin state and congressional leaders joined UnitedHealth Group CEO Stephen J. Hemsley, in the annoumcement at 3100 AMS Blvd. in Green Bay.
