Advance Auto Parts plans $30M Enfield distribution hub

Advance Auto Parts is receiving state aid to invest $30 million in a new distribution center in Enfield.

The Virginia-based automotive retailer plans to lease 450,000 square feet of space at the former Lego building in Enfield in order to ramp up distribution to its northeast business and improve product availability for its customers.

The company is receiving a $5 million loan from the state, which will be for given if the company meets certain milestones, including creating between 100 and 200 jobs, officials say.

The loan is expected to be approved during the next State Bond Commission hearing Aug. 31.

Advance Auto Parts serves both the do-it-yourself and professional installer markets and operates 3,692 stores in 39 states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
