CT senate passes 75 cent min. wage hike

The state Senate late Thursday approved a bill that would increase the state's minimum wage by 75 cents over the next two years to $9, raising concerns from small businesses who say the move will hurt their ability to add new employees.
The Senate voted 21-to-15, mostly along party lines, to raise Connecticut's minimum wage to $8.70 on Jan. 1, 2014 and then to $9 on Jan. 1, 2015.
