Minnesota firm acquires Branford automotive company

A Minnesota company has acquired Connecticut Warehouse Distributors, a wholesale automotive parts distributor based in Branford.

Factory Motor Parts Inc. (FMP) of Eagan, Minn. said Wednesday it bought the company to expand its footprint in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 1959, Connecticut Warehouse Distributors provides parts, accessories, chemicals, equipment and shop supplies to new car dealerships, independent service centers, municipalities and other customers, according to Bloomberg. It also has locations in Seabrook, N.H. and North Attleboro, Mass.

FMP supplies parts and service to automotive professionals in the U.S., China and Middle East, the company said.

FMP said it also acquired the Boston-based Jack Young Company and the Auto Supply Company, based in North Carolina.
