A New York-based operations management and analytics company has completed its $240 million purchase of West Hartford-based SCIO Health Analytics.

EXLService Holdings. Inc., a publicly traded company, says it finalized the acquisition July 1.

Under the deal, SCIO will continue operating at 433 S. Main St., providing health analytics services to providers, payers and life sciences organizations aiming to increase revenue and uncover fraud and abuse in prescription pharmaceuticals.

EXL officials have said the purchase allows the company to serve larger clients with support from SCIO's team of over 2,000 clinicians and more than 3,000 data scientists worldwide.

"From its founding, SCIO has been dedicated to driving positive change by helping our clients effectively manage critical issues such as the transition to value-based care," SCIO Health CEO Siva Namasivayam said.

Namasivayam last year helped SCIO launch a program in which its data scientists recommend action plans to helps insurers, hospital systems and life science companies improve return on investment.

In 2007, he founded SCIO with two others. SCIO now employs over 900 people globally.
