A medical-office building that is one of a cluster of healthcare-focused properties in Plainville sold recently for $5.5 million, brokers say.

Tomasso Brothers Inc. sold the 27,685-square-foot, single-story edifice at 440 New Britain Ave. to buyer Atkins Cos., a West Orange, N.J., commercial-residential realty investor-manager, according to exclusive broker Holliday Fenoglio Fowler LP (HFF), of Philadelphia.

Hartford Healthcare and Central Connecticut Endoscopy's surgery center are the building's lead tenants.

The building is one of several neighboring Plainville medical and professional office buildings, including the newly opened Hartford HealthCare Medical Arts Building, 201 N. Mountain Road, and its cancer center that operates in a joint venture with New York's Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

In Jan. 2017, Milwaukee-based Physician Realty Trust paid $30 million for the 72,022-square-foot Medical Arts Building, which shares a lobby with the cancer center, in a transaction that HFF also brokered.
