Infosys CEO Salil Parekh is leading the Indian IT company's strategy to hire more American workers at its U.S. job sites.
Infosys, an India-based information technology and outsourcing provider, is holding a hiring event Saturday in Glastonbury as it begins to make good on a pledge to hire 1,000 people for an innovation hub in Hartford.

Infosys is looking for a variety of technology experts specializing in Java programs, in addition to facilitators for agile development and a property and casualty and life insurance business analyst. The speed hiring event lasts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the company's administrative office at 95 Glastonbury Blvd.

Those interviewed Saturday will go through a training bootcamp over several months, depending on the role.

A spokeswoman on Friday said Infosys is committed to opening four headquarters in the U.S. by 2019. The tech company has not yet announced when or where it will build its headquarters in Hartford, where it plans to hire 1,000 people by 2022.

Infosys' $20 million project in Hartford will be supported by $14 million in state grants, which the State Bond Commission approved in April.
