CT manufacturers stake claim to fame

Ansonia rubber-and-plastics products maker Farrel Pomini and three other Connecticut producers have been admitted to the American Manufacturing Hall of Fame (AMHoF).

Inducted along with Farrel Pomini are Fairfield steel-products manufacturer Handy & Harman Ltd., Middlebury watchmaker Timex Group USA and former Manchester silk manufacturer Cheney Brothers.

The induction ceremony will be take place at 5 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Trumbull Marriott.

In addition, the 2018 Leadership Award will be presented to Robert Klancko, a partner in the Woodbridge manufacturing consulting firm of Klancko & Klancko LLC.

AMHoF is affiliated with the Housatonic Community College (HCC) Foundation, which is the fiduciary for the Hall of Fame. Launched in 1990, the foundation also provides financial aid to HCC and its students.
