2015 Women in Business Digital Edition
A Conversation with Carolyn Kuan, Music Director, Hartford Symphony Orchestra,
facilitated by RONNA L. REYNOLDS, Executive Vice President, The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts.
In the conversation with Carolyn and Ronna, Carolyn will discuss her new venture with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra's Competition. Featuring a look at the finalists of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra's Fanfare Competition that honors the power of women - a new work entitled Fanfare for the Hartford Woman, which invited composers to create a companion piece to Aaron Copland's iconic Fanfare of the Common Man. Carolyn will discuss the Symphony's important role in offering new composers the chance to have their piece performed by an orchestra. The audience will be able to hear a section of the recorded versions of the three compostion finalists. Carolyn will illustrate the link between the creativity of composition which is similar to the creativity of marketing and creating a business product.
The Hartford Symphony Orchestra will offer attendees 20% off of tickets to the Fanfare for the Hartford Woman world premiere concert on May 29th at the Bushnell.
