Theodore S. Sergi was named President & CEO of the Connecticut Science Center in December, 2003, where he held the position until April, 2009. Prior to joining the Connecticut Science Center, Dr. Sergi served from 1994 to 2003 as Connecticut’s Commissioner of Education, and he has spent 35 years in elementary and secondary education. During his years as Commissioner, he made raising expectations for improved academic achievement of all students his educational priority.
Dr. Sergi holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut; an M.A. from Trinity College and a B.A. in Economics from Hobart College. He has been honored with awards from Connecticut’s teachers, superintendents, school boards, principals, parents, colleges, universities and others.
