Solomon quits as WWE director

Longtime World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. investor Michael B. Solomon has stepped down after nearly a decade as a director of the Stamford live-action promoter, a regulatory filing shows.

WWE did not declare a reason for Solomon giving up, effective last Friday, his seats on the board and on its audit and compensation committees in its 8K filing with the federal Securities and Exchange Commission.

Solomon, 62, is managing partner of Gladwyne Partners LLC and joined the WWE board in 2001.

News of Solomon's departure comes a week after former WWE CEO Linda McMahon lost her GOP bid against Democrat Richard Blumenthal to become Connecticut's next U.S. senator.
