Avon holistic pet grocery opens

A pair of Avon pet lovers has opened an animal grocer catering to the holistic nutritional and physical needs of cats and dogs.

Business partners Ken Sherbacow and Matt Gugliotti claim their Wholesome Animal Grocery Store (WAGS) is the first-of-its-kind in Connecticut, at 70 East Main St. in Avon's Fairway Shops plaza.

WAGS food products are meat-based and contain human-grade ingredients and natural preservatives, and have no bi-products or fillers.

The store also offers food products for a new trend, the "raw diet" -- packaged raw meat, with added vitamins and minerals, thawed and served as is.

The store also offers massage and physical therapy, Reiki and acupressure.
