Thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment? We are searching for the next leader and manager of our award winning B2B media sales team. We have experienced sales growth over the last three years and offer a goal driven professional workplace.

Hartford Business Journal—Central Connecticut's weekly business news authority has been serving the region for 20 years. We are growing and seeking a motivating leader for our successful sales team. The five + members who make up our outside sales team are energetic, goal oriented and have a passion to help local and regional business owners grow their business. To lead them you will need to understand B2B decision makers, have led a team in a relationship building consultative sales system, and have a strong work ethic.

The new leader will manage the sales team and be responsible for advertising sales in our weekly newspaper, the Custom Publishing division, electronic advertising on Enews email products and on HartfordBusiness.com, and sponsorships for our 12 different events across the year, including the CT Business Expo.

We are looking for someone with a college degree and at least 5 years of sales experience in advertising or B2B business sales. The ideal candidate will also have successfully managed a sales team for three years with a proven track record of success. Excellent leadership, sales savvy, strong marketing knowledge, and time management and communication skills are a must. Previous use of a customer contact software system like ACT or Goldmine is helpful.

Our incoming pay package includes a base salary with a commission structure, bonus plan, benefits, free parking and on-going career development.

INTERNSHIP - Graphics & Production

We're looking for Graphic Design Interns. Learn about publishing the weekly paper, work on graphic support for events, & help design covers for special publications. This Spring, you'll be working on projects such as Best Places To Work in CT, Women in Business, The CT Meetings Guide, Business Champions, the CT Business Expo and more.

The position is unpaid but parking will be compensated.

Hours are flexible within times below.
Hours Available:
Mon-Thurs (1:30pm-5pm)
Fridays – All day (9-5)

Must know MAC platform
Adobe Indesign, Photoshop & Illustrator. MS Powerpoint.
