Two CT robotics teams headed to St. Louis final

An alliance of three student robotics teams from the Hartford area and New York is advancing to the national FIRST Championship in St. Louis, Mo., later this month, authorities say.

Hartford's Birds of Prey, the Cyber Knights of Southington, and the Rocketeers, of Clifton Park, N.Y., won the Northeast Utilities FIRST Connecticut Regional Robotics contest in Hartford over the weekend.

They will vie against other teams from around the country on April 25-28.

In Hartford, students from 64 high schools in six states competed in the 18th annual, two-day event.

The Regional Chairman's Award was awarded to "StuyPulse," of New York City.
