CT energy academy to graduate first class

The Connecticut Business & Industry Association Education Foundation will graduate Thursday the first class from its Academic Skills Enhancement for Energy-Related Careers program.

The group of 20 Greater Hartford residents earned their National Career Readiness Certificate through the Center for Energy Workforce Development during the six week training course.

Hartford-based Northeast Utilities will take 12 of the graduates to participate in a 10-week utility training program.

The 20 graduates are Derrick Bailey of Hartford, Dave Barbagallo of Kensington, Daniel Beaulieu of Newington, Michael Cataldo of East Hampton, Peter Collins of Manchester, Troy Craig of East Hartford, Stanley Gabel of Vernon, Frederick Gentle of Hartford, Benjamin Gomez of Hartford, Ernestaly Gonzalez of Manchester, Juan Guzman of Hartford, Robert Henderson of Hartford, Umar A. Jalloh of Hartford, Ashton Long of Terryville, Scott Lush of Manchester, Robert McIntyre of Plainville, Miguel Ottey of Hartford, Kevin Page of Southington, Alex Perez of Colchester, and Dave E. Thompson of Hartford.
