Hospital of Central Ct names Khadr pediatrics chief

The Hospital of Central Connecticut has named Nagwa Khadr as its new chief of pediatrics.

Khadr, who joined the hospital March 12, was most recently the chair of the Pediatrics Department at McLaren Medical Center-Macomb in Michigan. She was also a clinical professor of pediatrics at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and a staff pediatrician at Detroit Medical Center Children's Hospital of Michigan.

Khadr earned her medical degree from Faculty of Medicine Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt and she completed her pediatrics residency at Henry Ford Health System/Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Her areas of interest include children's welfare; general pediatrics problems and disorders from birth to age 21; infectious diseases; asthma and allergies; ear, nose and throat problems; attention deficit hyperactivity disorders; and preventive medicine and immunizations.
