Nxegen sues Comverge for patent infringement

Middletown energy information provider Nxegen filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Georgia energy manager Comverge alleging patent infringement.

In the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Connecticut on Monday, Nxegen says Comverge infringed on patents for monitoring and controlling energy usage - technology meant to help ratepayers reduce their energy use.

Nxegen filed a similar lawsuit in July against North Carolina smart grid provider Sensus USA.

Founded in 1998, Nxegen provides real-time energy information and load management services to commercial, industrial and municipal customers.
