DOT launches green ride week

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced a special CTrides Week to encourage commuters to take more environmentally friendly forms of travel.

During the week of May 14-18, DOT will encourage drivers to partake in ride-sharing options such as buses, rail, the statewide vanpool system, carpool-matching services, and telecommuting assistance.

In launching CTrides Week, DOT hopes to motivate motorists to think of ways to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and save time and money.
