Connecticut has pumped another $500,000 into Innovatient Solutions Inc. nearly one year after putting an initial $500,000 stake into the Farmington biotechnology startup.
Connecticut Innovations Inc. made its investment as part of a $2 million round from equity investors that also include Innovatient's founders and angel investors, authorities said Monday.
Last May, CI and investors pumped $1 million into Innovatient, which is developing an information system to improve communications between care providers and patients.
Its first application, nVision Information Therapy Solution, will provide patients with education, communication services and entertainment through TV monitors in hospital rooms, authorities say.
Innovatient is housed in the University of Connecticut's Cell and Genomic Sciences building in Farmington.
CI has a seat on Innovatient's board of directors.
