GE Capital lends $225M loan to 84 Lumber

Norwalk's GE Capital made a $225 million asset-backed loan to Pennsylvania lumber and building-materials retailer 84 Lumber Co., which has operates a Plainville yard.

84 Lumber, of Eighty Four, Pa., will use the loan to refinance existing debt and for working capital, authorities say.

Founded in 1956, 84 Lumber owns and operates 250 stores, component plants, door shops, installation centers and engineered wood product shops in 30 states.

GE Capital is a unit of General Electric Co. in Fairfield.
