CT's Praxair to supply Mexican steelmaker Deacero

Danbury's Praxair Inc. signed up to supply one of Mexico's leading steelmakers with industrial gases for its new steel factory under construction in northern Mexico.

Praxair Mexico and steelmaker Deacero didn't air financial terms.

Praxair said it will invest an unspecified sum to build a cryogenic air separation plant adjacent to Deacero's 500-ton-per-day steel factory in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila.

The deal also gives Praxair a foothold in Mexico's rapidly expanding northern industrial region, Murilo Melo, president and general director of Praxair Mexico and Central America, said in a statement.
