Hartford health insurer Aetna said Tuesday that it is now offering individual health insurance plans to Costco members in Connecticut and seven other states.
The Costco Personal Health Insurance program will include five plans to choose from and will offer medical benefits, an extensive network of doctors and hospitals, as well as other services, according to Aetna.
As part of the program, Costco members will be able to get benefits like lower copays on prescriptions at Costco pharmacies. In addition, all plans include special features and lower monthly premiums negotiated only for Costco members.
Besides Connecticut, the plan is also available to Costco members in Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.
Aetna plans to expand the program to other markets later this year.
