Praxair adds Rio Tinto exec to board

Danbury industrial-gas maker Praxair Inc. has added British-Australian Rio Tinto Group mining executive Bret K. Clayton to its board of directors.

Clayton has been group executive for Business Support & Operations of Rio Tinto Ltd. and Rio Tinto Plc at Rio Tinto Group since 2009

He joined Rio Tinto in 1994 and has held a series of management positions. Before that, Clayton, a CPA, worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers for nine years, providing auditing and consulting services to the mining industry.

Clayton was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and holds an accounting degree from the University of Utah. He is a graduate of the International Executive Management Program of INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
