CT health centers awarded $9.7 million

The federal government is awarding $9.7 million in grants to seven Connecticut community health centers for capital improvement projects.

The awards are part of the new health care reform law and will fund renovation and construction projects, boosting health centers' ability to care for additional patients.

The recipients include Community Health & Wellness Center of Greater Torrington ($5 million); East Hartford Community Healthcare, Inc. ($3 million); Cornell Scott Hill Health Corporation ($485,850); East Hartford Community Healthcare, Inc. ($500,000); Generations Family Health Center, Inc. ($500,000); and Staywell Health Care, Inc. ($232,098).
