Killingly technology-products maker Rogers Corp. recruited former Dow Chemical officer Helen Zhang as its face in China and the rest of its Asia region.
In the newly created post of Asian president, Zhang will shepherd growth in the region of Rogers' three key product lines - printed circuit materials, power electronics solutions and high-performance foams, Rogers said Tuesday. She will be based in Rogers' Beijing office.
President and CEO Bruce Hoechner said Asia now accounts for more than half Roger's revenues and that the company is bucking for more.
"I am confident that Helen's strong track record of leading and growing global businesses in Greater China and across Asia will be instrumental to strengthening our market position in the region and advancing our strategic initiatives," Hoechner said in a statement.
Zhang most recently was global general manager for the interconnect technology business of Dow Electronic Materials. Prior to Dow, she spent 20 years with chemicals and coatings maker Rohm and Haas, managing two Asian joint ventures.
Zhang holds an executive MBA from the GuangHua Business School of Beijing University and a BS degree in Environmental Chemistry from Beijing Polytechnic University.
