New Jersey law firm McCarter & English LLP, with offices in Hartford and Stamford, hired attorney Alan F. Kornstein as a partner in its tax and employee benefits group in its Newark headquarters.
Kornstein will focus on tax planning and tax disputes involving complex commercial and personal transactions.
Kornstein previously was a partner with Orloff, Lowenbach, Stifelman & Siegel P.A.
He is past chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association's taxation law section and partnership taxation committee. He has also chaired the Essex County Bar Association's tax, trusts and estates committee.
Admitted in New Jersey and New York, Kornstein earned his LLD degree in taxation from New York University School of Law and his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He also graduated with a MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and has an undergraduate degree from Yale.
