Baldwin Jr. resigns from CT Whale

The Whalers Sports & Entertainment franchise is shaking up its senior management team.

The Hartford operator of the AHL's Connecticut Whale hockey team announced Monday that Howard Baldwin, Jr. is stepping down as president and chief operating officer effective immediately.

Baldwin, Jr., who had been serving as president and COO since December 2010, will remain with WSE in an advisory capacity.

He will continue to act as a liaison between the company and its financial partners, and will also still represent the Connecticut Whale on the American Hockey League Board of Governors.

Mark Willand, who has been with the company since its inception and is currently WSE's Senior vice-president of business operations, will take over as president of the company.
