FuelCell Energy accelerates S. Korean delivery

Danbury clean energy manufacturer FuelCell Energy, Inc. will accelerate the delivery of its products to South Korea to meet growing demand for fuel cells there.

FuelCell had entered into a 70 megawatt order with Posco Energy of South Korea to deliver 2.8 megawatts of fuel cell kits per month through Oct. 2013.

The Danbury company is now sending 4.2 megawatts of kits per month to conclude the order by April 2013.

Once complete, FuelCell will begin deliveries of a separate 120 megawatt order of fuel cell kits.

A week ago, Posco invested $30 million in FuelCell by buying 20 million shares of its stock. The money came in addition to another $32 million FuelCell raised from a public share offering.
