SOS's CT security officers set Thur. strike

Private security officers who protect state buildings and property in Hartford say they will strike Thursday, upset that their employer allegedly has failed to contribute to their pensions as required under its state contract, authorities say.

Several hundred union officers employed with SOS Security Inc. plan an 11:30 a.m. strike-rally on the State Capitol steps to publicize their plight, officials said Wednesday.

Union officials say SOS has threatened workers with loss of their jobs if they do strike.

An official of SOS, based in Parsippany, N.J., declined comment Wednesday.
