Danbury industrial-gas maker Praxair Inc. signed a deal that widens its door into the domestic and overseas health markets for respiratory gases, authorities say.
Praxair and Vapotherm Inc., of Stevensville, Md., inked a multi-year pact to combine both firm's helium-oxygen gas products into a single system for use in hospitals and clinics in North and Latin America, Portugal and Spain, the companies said.
Vapotherm' s high-flow heliox delivery system was recently cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Inc. The system, mounted to a cart, delivers gas to patients via a nasal tube.
Praxair's Medipure brand heliox gas is part of the system.
