Danish toy manufacturer Lego has expanded its North American headquarters in Enfield more than a third to augment its research and development efforts.
Lego's 80,198-square-foot addition gives the firm 299,325 square feet of office and manufacturing space at 555 Taylor Road, in the Enfield Business Park, according to its landlords.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The park is owned by a joint venture among entities formed by Hackman Capital Partners LLC, Calare Properties Inc. and KBS Real Estate Investment Trust.
Lego now occupies 51 percent of the available space in the 587,736-square-foot business park.
Lego has occupied the facility for 37 years.
The expansion allows Lego to add new R&D, as well as add more employees, authorities said. The extra space also will include a full-service kitchen and more office space.
