U. Hfd. nets biz assistance grant

The Entrepreneurial Center at the University of Hartford has received a $100,000 grant from the city to help existing businesses stay and grow in Hartford, the school announced.

It's the third consecutive grant of for the center, which has provided training, advising and technical assistance to 41 city businesses over the past two years under the grants.

Areas in which businesses have sought improvement from the center include social media campaigns, marketing strategies, operations, sales, financial management, access to capital, human resources and procurement of government contracting opportunities.

This year, the center is adding website development and search engine optimization to its list of offerings.
