Kayak Software to get $2.5M state loan

Online travel software maker Kayak Software Corp. will get a $2.5 million loan from the state to renovate a Stamford building that will serve as its headquarters, Gov. Dannel Malloy's office announced.

The Priceline Group recently purchased Kayak, which continues to operate as an independent brand.

The company is planning a $5 million renovation of a 17,000-square-foot, three-story building at on Market Street.

Kayak has pledged to create 50 new jobs at the site over the next few years to add to its existing roster of 40.

As part of the project, KAYAK expects it will hire an additional 50 employees within the next few years.

The company will be eligible for forgiveness on the 10-year, one-percent loan if it creates the jobs.
