Cox aims to eliminate landfill waste

Cox Communications said its operations centers in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Ohio are aiming to eliminate by 2020 all landfill waste they generate.

The Cox facilities — which comprise its "Northeast Region" — will conduct a study of their waste streams to determine how much and what kinds of their trash are being sent to landfills.

The facilities have already implemented energy-saving measures, including recycling and composting all paper, cardboard, plastics and food products. They also have solar power, HVAC and boiler control systems and other efficient equipment.
