The Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection awarded Toyota dealers in Westport and New Haven for selling or leasing the most electric vehicles earlier this year.

New Country Toyota of Westport and A1 Toyota of New Haven were the first-ever recipients of the Connecticut REVolutionary Dealer awarded, honoring the dealers who sold the most EVs from Feb. 1 to July 31.

The award, given in conjunction with the Connecticut Automotive Retailers Association, is meant to encourage the implementation of electric vehicles throughout the state.

Based on the current price of electricity, the cost of operating an EV in Connecticut is about $2 per gallon, according to DEEP.
