U.S. News & World Report ranks top CT hospitals

Hartford and St. Francis hospitals ranked Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, in the Hartford region and Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, in Connecticut behind Yale-New Haven Hospital in the 2016-17 Best Hospitals rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

The annual rankings recognize hospitals that excel in treating the most challenging patients. Connecticut rankings can be found here.

This year, Hartford Hospital ranks high-performing in five specialties and seven procedures/conditions. The specialties are diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and GI surgery, nephrology, orthopedics and pulmonology. The procedures are aortic valve surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, colon cancer surgery, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, hip replacement and knee replacement.

St. Francis ranked high performing in five procedures/conditions: COPD, colon cancer surgery, heart failure, hip replacement and knee replacement.

Yale-New Haven ranked nationally in 11 adult specialties and six children's specialties, and high performing in nine adult procedures/conditions.
